A Practical Example of Microsoft Copilot at Work
Let’s take a look at how Jesse, a financial analyst for a growing consumer goods company with 100 employes, uses Copilot to be more productive throughout the day.
09 AM
Jesse begins his day by using Copilot for Finance in Microsoft Excel to look at the latest cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) estimates for a new product. He uses it to filter the data to get the view he wants instead of manually searching through the data.
11 AM
After going through the COGS data, Jesse turns his focus to reviewing the due diligence information on a potential acquisition target. He uses Copilot Chat to create a summary and deliver the content in a Microsoft Word document.

Jesse then uses the Copilot-generated acquisition overview to create a presentation for the business development team. He asks Copilot in PowerPoint to use the Word document to create a designed deck with a talk track.

Once Jesse goes through the deck, he decides he wants to include some additional data in the presentation. He goes back to Copilot for Finance in Excel to update the acquisition numbers with the latest what-if scenarios and create some charts to make the deck more visually compelling.
